YOUTH STATE TEAM SELECTION
The South Australian Youth team for the 2010 ANC will be selected by an SABF panel. A number of criteria, including participation and performance over the previous 12 months, will be taken into account, with the results of the 2010 trials being the principal determinant in team selection. The event will be open to to players born on or after 1st January 1984.
Depending on the number of entries, the Butler event will be a single or double round-robin, held in conjunction with the Seniors' Trials, using the same boards. In the event that there are fewer than four tables, the Seniors' averages will be used as datums for the Youth Butler.
Normal substitution rules will apply, with no absolute requirement that substitutes be of eligible age. However, strict penalties will apply whenever the director deems that a substitute is of substantially better quality than the missing entrant player.
